I submit this without commentary: Chicago Sun-Times movie critic Roger Ebert, on what it’s like to go from being a fat man to being a man disfigured by cancer treatments.

A great read. Some of the readers here may be too young to appreciate what Siskel and Ebert were before the age when you could look up 60 movie reviews from the comfort of your couch.
Although I don’t always agree with him, I have always enjoyed reading Ebert’s reviews and enjoy his writing, and have often wondered what he must be going through now.
He does himself justice in this self-portrait, of sorts, I think. And I foudn the memories of his ti-for-tats with Gene Siskel, who did NOT survive his own treatment for cancer, particularly ponient.
